Tottenham Reportedly In Nubel Chase For Prize International Goalkeeper

|

According to reports in the foreign media, Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly in a four-way race for highly rated Schalke goalkeeper Alexander Nubel.

The 22-year-old German stopper came through the youth ranks of SC Paderborn but made the switch to Bundesliga side Schalke back in August 2015. He has made his debut for the club and he’s got 22 starting appearances under his belt for them, along with two substitute showings and at the time of writing he’s on international duty at the Under 21 European Championships for his country.

According to outlet Calciomercato, Spurs are apparently challenging Chelsea, Paris Saint-Germain and Atletico Madrid for his services this summer and given his progress in terms of first team involvement at Schalke last year, he’s clearly a bit of a hot property.

Whether Spurs have a genuine interest or not is always debatable at this time of year, but with Michel Vorm moving on and Paulo Gazzaniga stepping up to No 2, looking for the next potential No 1 does make sense when we look to the long term.
