Tottenham Playmaker Rejects Barcelona Links

|

Christian Eriksen stated he is happy at the club, despite rumours linking him with a move away.

The Mirror report that there have been suggestions that Barcelona could make a bid for him in the summer, but speaking to the media whilst on international duty, the Dane was dismissive of the claims:

‘To be honest, I do not think about [interest from elsewhere].You play football in the present, but you also have dreams. Dreams are one thing, but they are only realistic when [an offer] is on the table.Right now, most people are very happy at Tottenham and I am also.’

The bit where he says he has “dreams” does kind of suggest he has ideas of where he would like to move on to in the future, but it`s also clear from what he says he isn`t aware of any team that is looking to sign him at the moment. That is great to hear.

Our no.23 has a contract that expires in 2020 so he has two and a half years left to run on his current deal. There were rumours in January that there was a new offer on the table to Christian from the club, but there haven`t been any further developments since then.

Certainly I would like to see some movement on the contract front in the next 6-12 months or so before things get too close to comfort like with Toby.
