£25m-rated Tottenham target makes it “clear” he wishes to join Mourinho – Report

|

According to a report from the Liverpool Echo, Tottenham Hotspur transfer target Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg has made it ‘clear‘ that he wishes to join Jose Mourinho in north London despite Everton’s advances and ‘£25 million bid’ – with the Dane reportedly having his ‘heart set‘ on a switch to the capital.

Hojbjerg, who has been a mainstay for Southampton this season under manager Ralph Hasenhuttl, is currently at the centre of a huge transfer saga – which recently resulted in his captaincy being stripped.

Should Spurs sign Hojbjerg?

Yes, get the deal done

No, better options out there

Indeed, the 24-year-old has been heavily linked with a move to Spurs in recent weeks, and now it can be revealed that the international midfielder is certainly keen to sign for the Lilywhites.

This revelation has come after reports that Everton had lodged a successful bid to lure him away from the south coast to Merseyside, but journalist Phil Kirkbride of the Echo has revealed the Toffees did not make such a move.

Carlo Ancelotti is apparently a ‘huge admirer’ of the player and asked his side to make a bid for Hojbjerg, but the tough-tackling stalwart has outlined his plans to play under Mourinho at Spurs.

Contrary to reports, the club have apparently not lodged a £25m assault, with Everton allegedly having the stance that Hojbjerg is only worth around £14m considering he is in the final 12 months of his current deal.

Potentially good news for Tottenham, the Daniel Levy target may well have a much better chance of moving to Spurs, especially given his reported stance.

According to WhoScored, the colossus averages more tackles per 90 than any Spurs midfield player – including the likes of Moussa Sissoko and Tanguy Ndombele.

Given these numbers, it’s no surprise we are reportedly chasing his signature – and with the Denmark star apparently hopeful of a transfer to Spurs, it may well be a match made in heaven.
