Spurs Word On The Tweet

“The next Aaron Lennon”, “Feels like robbery” – Lots of Spurs fans flock to transfer report

Plenty of Tottenham Hotspur fans have flocked to social media to discuss their soon-to-be first signing of the summer transfer window.

According to The Athletic on Monday, the north Londoners have won the race to clinch 15-year-old Wigan Athletic midfielder Alfie Devine after he completed his medical and signed terms over the weekend.

It’s claimed that chief scout Brian Carey led the pursuit to land the teenager and the club have beaten the likes of Leeds United, Celtic and Chelsea to his signature.

Does Levy need to back Jose in the transfer market?

Absolutely!

No way!

Some members of the Spurs faithful offered up tongue-in-cheek remarks in response, claiming that they were now going to win the league and that it was the signing of the season from Daniel Levy.

Whilst others compared the emerging talent to Aaron Lennon, Oliver Skipp and Tom Carroll – all of which played their part at Spurs from a very young age.

Devine was also lauded as a “generational” and “proper” talent. Only time will truly tell if he is.

Here’s the rest of the reaction…
