Tottenham Hotspur romped to a 2-0 victory over local rivals West Ham on Tuesday evening, a win that moves Jose Mourinho’s men to within a touching distance of the European places.
One of the most encouraging things to come from the match has to have been Harry Kane getting back on the scoresheet and what a sublime goal it was.
The 26-year-old stormed past the Hammers’ backline to latch onto a pinpoint through ball from Heung-min Son eight minutes from time to double Spurs’ advantage.
It was just his second appearance since suffering an injury on New Year’s Day and once again, he played the full 90 minutes.
Former Spurs striker Gary Lineker took to Twitter to deliver his verdict on the English talisman, he said:
There are players that you know will score when they’re one-on-one with the keeper, @HKane is one of them. 👏🏻👏🏻

No one with any understanding of the art of centre forward play would doubt the ability of @HKane. If you do doubt him, then you haven’t got a clue. https://t.co/QrnKjjq2oz

Kane, who is valued at £108m by Transfermarkt, nudged his tally to 18 for the season. A rather impressive number considering he missed at least 15 matches before lockdown struck.
And that’s why Lineker has backed the lethal Spurs forward, claiming that anyone who doubts him hasn’t got a clue what they’re on about.
We’re inclined to agree with that very statement.
280 appearances, 183 goals. That’s some record.
