The biggest piece of transfer speculation we’ve picked up on today relates to the continuing rumours linking Christian Eriksen with a move to Barcelona.
The talented Danish international, who has been instrumental in Tottenham’s play in recent seasons, is on the wish-list of the Barcelona support.
With Andres Iniesta having left the La Liga club, the support are looking to the Nou Camp hierarchy to secure a top-notch replacement.
According to the news source, Football London, a poll was held by Barcelona fans relating to which area of the team needed improving and which player would be best suited to playing for the Catalan side.
With regards to the position that needed strengthening the most, 54.8% of those who voted believed the midfield was the area that needed looking at.
And when it came to a possible recruit, over 9,000 supporters voted for Eriksen.
Now Eriksen has given no indication that he wishes to leave our club and we’d like to hope that Daniel Levy will use his business acumen to step in and make any attempts to sign the player futile.
A Spurs XI without Eriksen, on a permanent basis, doesn’t bear thinking about!
Surely, Spurs have moved on from times when they were content to sell players in return for a large fee!
