Tottenham “likely” to agree deal for “sensational” 49-cap international – Report

|

According to a report from the Daily Mail, Tottenham Hotspur and Napoli are ‘likely‘ to come to an agreement over striker Arkadiusz Milik with winger Lucas Moura going the other way – and Spurs apparently see the 49-cap international as a replacement for Harry Kane should he decide to leave north London.

Milik, who has scored 10 goals in just 16 Serie A starts this season, bagging 13 strikes in all competitions, is currently at the centre of Jose Mourinho’s interest as he prepares for his first full season in charge in 2020/2021.

As per the Mail, Napoli are also interested in signing Lucas, with chairman Aurelio De Laurentiis reportedly being a long-term admirer of the Brazilian.

As a result, it is now ‘likely‘ that Tottenham can come to an agreement over a potential deal to sign Milik with Lucas moving to Napoli – but the decision remains up to the ‘sensational’ Poland striker.

The Italian club attempted to poach Lucas last season, but ex-boss Mauricio Pochettino blocked their attempt to sign him.

Now, taking into account our interest in Milik, De Laurentiis and co may have another chance to take the 27-year-old off our hands.

Despite becoming a cult hero through his Champions League semi-final hat-trick against Ajax, the attacker has since struggled to establish a good run of form – assisting just one teammate since December.

Indeed, this has reportedly prompted Mourinho and Spurs to consider the possibility of swapping him in a deal for Milik, and Tottenham are now ‘willing‘ to make that happen.

Whether or not we do manage to bag the striker remains to be seen, but the Daily Mail claim an agreement could be likely to come to fruition.
