The 18 year old Ajax player has been showing that once again Ajax know how to produce a player with huge potential, by all accounts they are desperate to keep hold of him. The approaches to talk and the offers to give him a global stage in the Premier league are said to be now in full swing as we approach the not too distant next window.

According to my Dutch Eredivisie coaching friend and his agent connections, Premier league clubs are stepping up interest, including Tottenham.

The belief is we have a great chance of capturing one of the best right footed wingers Holland have produced in a generation, if for no other reason the relationship between the two clubs is said to be mutually respectful and warm after we negotiated with great care and met their hefty asking price for Davidson Sanchez.

Sanchez was another player that they would have preferred to hold onto for another season.

Capable with both feet but predominately right footed, he possesses great skill and decent pace, and coming from a club where they demand a high work rate, he`d fit right in.

He`s a top class prospect and speaks the language with ease, capturing him would be a massive coup.

I`m told that approaches have been made by several clubs, including our North London rivals, with perhaps a view to buy now in this upcoming window, with potentially a loan back for the rest of the season which would give Ajax plenty of time to get a replacement in for the start of next season.

Chances are that if we are successful, it will be our biggest ever investment in a player of his age, I`m told that if they can be persuaded to deal, a figure of upwards of ?40 mill will have to be paid, and additions will also be expected.

That`s steep for an as yet unproven 18 year old, but by all accounts everyone and his dog think he is heading towards being one of Hollands top players.

Looking at him, he would be a fantastic fit for us, and Poch would be exactly the right coach to bring the best out of him and bring him on.

Let`s hope it happens, because he is exactly the type of young, pacey skilful attacker we so desperately need and if we really are in serious danger of losing Deli or Eriksen in the summer, he`s just the sort of player that would help us get over the pain of losing one, or even both of them.

He really is an exciting prospect and I would be jumping for joy if we land him.
