Tottenham Join Host of Clubs In Pursuit Of £7m Rated German Wide Man

|

Cologne winger Leonardo Bittencourt is another player on the club’s radar, according to Bild.

The 24-year-old has a release clause of €8m (£7m) and he is reportedly interesting a number of clubs including Monaco, Hoffenheim and Werder Bremen.

When asked by Bild about his future beyond the end of the season, the German said:

“I have not decided!”

Bittencourt has had a decent season in Germany with six goals and five assists in 27 appearances. The former Germany Under 21 international has predominantly been used as a left winger by Cologne this campaign, but he can be used on the right-hand side or as a no.10.

He would certainly fit the mould of the type of midfielder Mauricio Pochettino is looking for. With the three behind Harry Kane interchanging positions regularly, the German would be a good fit.

Whether he has the quality to play in the Premier League though, it remains to be seen and considering the quality of players that can play behind Harry, it would be surprising if we were to make another signing in that area.
