Tottenham in Four Way Tussle For Vorm Replacement

|

We are keeping an eye on Southampton goalkeeper Alex McCarthy, according to the Mirror‘s chief football writer John Cross.

Liverpool, Wolves, and Arsenal are also keeping tabs on the 28-year-old following an impressive season at St Mary’s.

The stopper became the Saints’ number one last campaign after replacing England international Fraser Forster in the starting eleven against Manchester United back in December.

We are seeking a new number two to replace Michel Vorm. The Dutchman will leave when his contract expires at the end of June after spending four years at the club. It seems McCarthy is being looked at as an option.

As well as spending the last two years on the South Coast, the keeper has had spells at Crystal Palace, QPR and Reading, racking up 182 appearances in professional football with 41 of those in the Premier League.

With a save percentage of 62%, he performed slightly below Hugo Lloris (68%) last season, but it seems he could be an able understudy if we were to make a bid for him.
