As the making money and friends tour is completed, it’s Poch and his boys that will make their anticipated home debuts this afternoon.

In terms of new faces, we haven’t seen anything too drastic, but there is a realistic feel good factor, over the way we seem to be looking to play, with the emphasis on the team, as opposed to individuals.

It would seem that several of our World Cup players will either be missing or only playing a minor part today and that actually sounds good to me, as Poch doesn’t seem to be influenced by names or reputations and seems happy to show faith in players that have so far performed well in the four other pre season games.

That may well also apply to the Shalke team, who the likes of Draxler, Howedes, Huntelaar and our former ‘legend’ Prince Boateng are all WC participants, but who might not be deemed ready to face Spurs.

Shalke, were the the best of the rest in Germany, as they finished third behind Bayern and Dortmond, so we should expect a tough game, which is just what we need to test our players, especially after last weekends pathetic showing from Celtic…
