Tottenham Get Their Turf Back – (Must Think Of A Green Shoots Reference)

|

Earlier today Tottenham Hotspur took to social media to announce a historic moment in the ongoing development of our new Stadium…the new pitch has begun being laid.

The hybrid grass surface has been prepared over in Holland and members of our groundstaff have spent the last eight weeks out there to ensure it would arrive in the optimum condition. I’m not sure if they were talking to it or singing lullabies but it’s a surface we know pretty well as it’s similar to the hallowed turf we had previously at White Hart Lane.

The process of laying the pitch requires 23 refrigerated lorries for transport and having begun today, the expectation is it will be completely in place by the close of business on Thursday.

A small step in reality, but obviously necessary and it should restore some hope of a Wembley departure before the turn of the New Year given the delays and complications so far.

It’s fair to say the announcement did raise some eyebrows in terms of the ‘safety certificate’ issues we had previously, as a number of fans have questioned how having no pitch related to that but it’s a positive step for me and now we look to the next one.
