Tottenham forward could open talks with clubs in Jan, manager treatment to blame for exit

|

According to Fotomac (h/t Sport Witness), Fernando Llorente could open talks with Galatasaray and Olympiacos in January, with both sides looking to sign the out-of-favour centre-forward on a free transfer next summer. Llorente’s contract is up at the end of the season and his lack of playing time under Mauricio Pochettino means the chances of an extension are slim.

It’s hard to see the Spanish international wanting to stay at Tottenham past summer given he’s made only nine appearances in all competitions this season that have amounted to 153 minutes of playing time. Llorente is behind the likes of Harry Kane, Heung-min Son, Lucas Moura and Erik Lamela in the pecking order and may be open to a move if a suitor is willing to give him regular first-team football.

Fotomac say Gala manager Fatih Terim has asked the board to sanction a move for Llorente and are looking to agree a pre-contract deal in January for the centre-forward to move to the Türk Telekom Stadium next summer. Olympiacos are in the race for his signature, so a battle could commence between the two clubs.
