Tottenham eye highly-rated 20-year-old, Norwegian’s asking price revealed

According to TEAMtalk, Tottenham are eyeing a move for Sander Berge and could reportedly make a move in January.

The highly-rated 20-year-old has an asking price of £13.25m, although there’s stiff competition for his signature due to the low valuation. TEAMtalk say Arsenal, Everton and West Ham United are monitoring Berge’s progress and the Norwegian has even had lengthy trials at a number of clubs.

Berge joined KRC Genk from Valerenga in January 2017 and has gone on to make 62 appearances in all competitions, scoring and creating three goals. The defensive midfielder has three years remaining on his deal at the Cristal Arena but could be headed for a big-money move to a European giant.

Berge is a physical specimen, standing at six foot four, so he brings strength and aerial dominance to the side. The 20-year-old is composed in possession, has a good range of passing and is capable of driving with the ball from deep. It’s not hard to see why clubs are interested in his signature, especially Tottenham, but whether or not they make an approach in January remains to be seen.

Victor Wanyama and Mousa Dembele have uncertain futures at the club. Dembele is out of contract in the summer and could be on the move. A replacement may be required as a result.
