One of the extremely regular names on Tottenham Hotspur’s summer transfer rumour mill the last few months has been Lyon midfielder Tanguy Ndombele.
With the 22-year-old often being spoken about as being Mousa Dembele’s replacement in the middle of the park, we’ve had claim and counterclaim about our interest in him and whether we have actually made a firm offer for his services or not.
With all the speculation rife, along with continuing links that suggest Manchester United have an interest in him to bolster their ranks – especially if Paul Pogba continues to talk himself into a move out of Old Trafford – Ndombele has now been quoted talking about the interest in him from White Hart Lane, and although he doesn’t say anything definitive, he’s certainly not against a move happening it seems.
Speaking to French outlet Telefoot (via the Mirror) over the weekend, the French international said of the club.
“Yes, it’s true that Tottenham are a great team. They are a big club, they finished fourth in their league, they reached the Champions League final, they are still a big club like any other. Which player would not be interested in a big club?”
Plenty of fans will be happy to read into those words and come up with their own conclusion.
