Tottenham Among Trio Pursuing £26.3m Rated Uruguayan Star

|

We are reportedly one of three clubs interested in signing Inter Milan midfielder Matias Vecino.

Italian newspaper Tuttosport says Chelsea, Everton and us are all apparently keeping track of the Uruguayan international.

Vecino only joined the Nerazzurri from Fiorentina for €24m in the summer, but they are said to be willing to listen to offers for the player.

Last season in Serie A, the 26-year-old scored three goals and provided three assists in 29 appearances. He was mostly used as a starter by manager Luciano Spalletti, but he is not seen as an integral first-team player.

Chelsea are reportedly interested in the Uruguayan only if former Napoli head coach Maurizio Sarri takes charge. Nothing more is known of our interest other than that we are “following him.”

Inter are said to rate him at €30m (£26.3m), but considering his less than stellar season, I doubt they will be able to make a profit on the player.
