Tottenham Among Three Teams Tracking Egyptian International

|

The club are considering a move for West Brom centre-back Ahmed Hegazi, according to ESPN reporter Peter O’Rourke.

The Egyptian international is also reportedly interesting West Ham and Leicester City with the Baggies expecting offers for the defender in the coming weeks.

Ajax’s Matthijs de LigtĀ is said to be our main priority if we sell Toby Alderweireld, but it seems Hegazi’s name is also being considered.

It would be a surprising development if we went after the 27-year-old. He was an ever-present starter as West Brom were relegated from the Premier League last season, with the team conceding 56 goals.

Mauricio Pochettino may have seen something in the centre-half that leads him to believe that he can perform well at a bigger club. However, he wouldn’t be someone I’d consider a suitable replacement for Toby.

There are likely to be a number of these rumours over the next few weeks now Poch has committed to the club, so take them all with a large pinch of salt.
