Despite plenty of speculation suggesting the opposite this month, it has been reported this week that Bundesliga side Schalke are not interested in a deal for Tottenham Hotspur fullback Danny Rose.
Sky Germany have reported that their sources understand that although Schalke are still after a left-back, they can’t afford Rose’s reported wage of potentially £65,000 for a loan deal and their permanent budget only stretches to around the 7million Euro mark anyway.
Having fallen out of favour at the club after a few comments he made in the past, with it likely he’ll remain with us when the transfer window closes properly at the end of the month, some fans feel it’s time to bring him back into contention as his mouth hasn’t suddenly made him a bad player.
[@SkySports] understands Schalke 04 are not interested in signing Tottenham Hotspur defender Danny Rose on loan before the end of the month.
Rose has seemingly been deemed too expensive by Schalke, while the German outfit are also not in the market for a left-back.#THFC #COYS pic.twitter.com/XLZmf4Vm64

55k a week too much for them and they’ve only just realised this ????

I don’t see us selling at this point, we haven’t got another leftback, going into a season with one natural leftback is risky to say the least

I don’t think we should be letting him go. He is an excellent player and he still has a role to play at the club.

Pretty sure it was Sky Sports that reported the Rose to Schalke story in the first place ????

Pretty comprehensive knockback. “He’s too expensive but we don’t want one anyway. Definitely no.”

So is he too expensive or are they not in the market for a LB?

Apparently his journey time to Wembley is unacceptable and favours ‘Tottenham Hotspur Stadium’ instead – fingers crossed it won’t be long now…. come on D Rose – hang in there mate..

I like how 'the German outfit aren't in the market for a left back' isn't considered the primary blocker to a move.

Rose continues to be linked tentatively with Paris Saint-Germain but having not strengthened the fullback positions this summer, I don’t see us letting him go as given the summer we’ve had a number of fans would simply think we’re omening ourselves if we do.
