Time For Poch To Give This Man A Chance Against West Ham – Agree

|

With Kieran Trippier not having the best of evening’s against Manchester City on Monday night as Tottenham Hotspur fell to a 1-0 defeat, I’m guessing a number of fans feel that especially with it being two games in three days, the England man should drop out for this one and youngster Kyle Walker-Peters should get an opportunity to impress.

Maybe it’s just me?

Trippier takes lots of praise for his attacking intent in matches, but a section of the fanbase are almost waiting for him to make a mistake defensively and he gave them the opportunity to criticise again in the last one as his error led to the goal.

With KWP having nine senior appearances to his name, but not a single showing so far this year, it’s probably not a bad time in my humble to make the switch and take Trippier out of the firing line and give him a break. He hasn’t become a bad player overnight, but it’s inevitable that when a defender or a goalkeeper makes an error it always shows up more and more people pounce on it.

There should be more than enough about us to take another victory over West Ham on Wednesday evening even if we bring in some youth to freshen things up – I’m also thinking Juan Foyth – as their injury list does give us a helping hand on that front.

If we don’t get youngsters out for games, we’ve got to give them the opportunities to impress, show what they can do and continue their development at a level that really tests them, and this one ticks the boxes for me.
