This Should Quieten Pochettino Rumours For A Bit But I Have A Feeling It Won’t

|

Despite Tottenham Hotspur’s start to the campaign of 2018/19, you don’t have to look very far on news aggregators or the Sports pages to see that manager Mauricio Pochettino is linked with Real Madrid at almost every turn.

Whether it was the lack of spending over the summer as we became the first side in Premier League history to not add a single body before the transfer window shut, or ongoing new White Hart Lane overtones – many believe Poch sent his own message to Daniel Levy a few weeks back.

Poch’s Words Seriously Concern These Fans – “Paving The Way”

Whatever the lead up and the hook to the debates about his future, the destination hasn’t been in question – Real Madrid’s Santiago Bernabeu.

I completely believe our gaffer will end up there one day and I have no doubts his own internal motivation wouldn’t want to see his CV feature one of the Spanish giants, even if he has ruled out Barcelona previously, but interviews are only interviews and you can’t reject something until it’s offered.

With a number of fans wondering whether anything but a splurge in January to make up for the summer (despite that not really being Poch’s style anyway in many ways) would lead to a quicker departure, especially with Real on the hunt for a gaffer – their search came to an end yesterday evening with the appointment of Santiago Solari.

His contract runs until 2021 so on the face if it, it’s not a stop-gap appointment, so it should quell the regular rumours we see.
