This Man’s Emotional Message As He Gets Ready For Spurs Return

Tottenham Hotspur favourite Son Heung-Min won the all-important Gold medal at the weekend with South Korea taking a 2-1 victory over Japan following extra time in Saturday’s Asian Games Final.

The 26-year-old more than played his part in their success across the tournament and of course, it wasn’t just the lifting of the Trophy that mattered in this case, it was receiving an exemption from the two-year national military service that he was facing which would’ve interrupted his playing career.

With the Gold secured Son and his colleagues now no longer have to worry about that and he can continue smiling on the pitch for years to come.

With the September international break now in full flow, he’ll return to us in readiness for the Liverpool clash on Saturday, September 15 and following the win he took to social media to pass thanks on to fans who were backing him and the team for success this last week and a bit.

In fairness that meant very little to me on a first viewing but football.london have a translation for those interested.

“2018 Asian Games winner! Our team members, coaching staff and our support staff thank you so much. I feel so grateful for the support for our team. Thank you so much for making me really shine for the first time in my first time in this international competition. I really appreciate it very much. And I really do not know what to say to the fans or fans around the world who really support me. I do not know what to say. Too much support. Too many cheers. I feel very responsible and thankful. Thank you for making memories that I will never forget in my life for the future. For the future of the Republic of Korea, for the football of the Republic of Korea. Everything! Thank you and love. The gold medal is the people’s.”
