Spurs Word On The Tweet

‘The year Poch was let loose’: Lots of Tottenham fans are loving the ‘ambition’ being shown by the club regarding 2 targets

Tottenham Hotspur fans have been reacting on Twitter to the news that the club allegedly remain interested in completing a couple more huge deals despite the expected imminent arrival of Tanguy Ndombele.

According to a report by the Telegraph (via Hotspur Related), Spurs are still thought to be keen on signing AS Roma’s Nicolo Zaniolo and Ajax’s Donny van de Beek this summer as Mauricio Pochettino looks to revamp and strengthen his squad massively ahead of the upcoming campaign.

Marcel van der Kraan, who is a Dutch football journalist, revealed on TalkSPORT’s Alan Brazil Sports Breakfast programme a couple of weeks ago that the Ajax midfielder would be keen on a switch to Spurs this summer.

“I think he’s got his eyes set on a club like Man United or Tottenham Hotspur. I’ve been talking to his agent, and he said if that would materialise it would be something right up his street,” he said.

He recorded 17 goals and 13 assists for the Eredivisie outfit last season and would have to be considered a player that would thrive playing for Pochettino.

Zaniolo is a remarkable player as well, as he has been incredible for Roma over the last 12 months or so and would have to be considered an excellent signing for us in the future if we were able to land him.

According to the stats compiled by WhoScored, the £36million-rated (Transfermarkt) midfielder produced 1.8 shots per game (ranking third in the whole team), 0.7 key passes and completed an average of 1.5 dribbles per game (second most), whilst his passing skills were rather strong as well. An 81.3% pass completion with an average of 20.1 attempts per game would surely suit the type of football Pochettino likes his side to play.

And, it would seem Tottenham fans were more than excited by the news that we remain interested in the duo as many of them took to Twitter to share their thoughts.

One fan stated that this was the ‘ambition I want to see’ from the club whilst another said ‘we win the league’ if those two were to arrive.

Here are just some of those reactions…
