Speculation has surfaced suggesting that Leeds United manager Marcelo Bielsa could be interested in taking Tottenham Hotspur youngster Juan Foyth out on a loan spell this season.
Bielsa is going into his first full campaign in England at Elland Road and Leeds have made a bright start to the Championship campaign of 2018/19, only losing their winning streak in midweek as they drew 2-2 with Swansea City on Tuesday evening.
There are no real bones on the report from the Birmingham Mail as they cover it on their transfer ticker, but I’m assuming it’s a generic ticker used by all Trinity Mirror outlets as I fail to see why they’d be covering Leeds or Spurs content.
Despite the lack of concrete information in their suggestion, it’s not beyond the realms of possibility as you don’t have to look far to see why Leeds would want defensive cover – their last game saw two fullbacks in the heart of defence as Liam Cooper dropped out with injury – and Mauricio Pochettino and Bielsa have well-known links, so it sort of writes itself on that front.
Should the 20-year-old make the move before the end of the month, it seems plenty would be on board with it.
I definitely would love to see him in Bielsa’s system

Would like to see him get more game time at Spurs, especially if we’re playing 3 at the back more. However, watching Leeds last night, would be a perfect team for him to develop. Bielsa Ball was very easy on the eye

What I’ve seen of him, he ain’t bad. Likes playing out so might suit your new style. It’ll do him good playing in championship

Despite coming from nowhere, I could certainly see the sense in this one from a number of angles if it was to come off. Bielsa has been quoted about not being concerned about strengthening their defensive ranks but Foyth should be a fantastic addition for them.
