The Time is Now

So the World Cup is over, the players are on there way home, pre-season training has already begun at WHL, so the time is NOW.

There should be no more excuses for deals and gossip.

If Chimbonda is coming, the deal can now be completed and he can join in the pre-season tour of his homeland, if not the links to new possibilities in the Right Back position can begin.

Carrick, is he / is he not, can be put to bed. Today’s rumours seem to suggest he could be staying which would be great.

I guess the only outstanding point is the trouble in Italy. The new world champions could mainly be playing for relegated teams, so will surely be heading out of the Azzuri strong hold, and fleeing to the Champions Leagues clubs in England, Spain and Germany, so this could see the start of a little transfer merry go-round.

Not that I am expecting Spurs to pick up any of the World Champions but surely Man Utd, Chelski and Arsenal will be sniffing around them, rather than anyone going through there paces at WHL training ground.

So Pre-season has begun, the majority of the Squad should have had a good rest with only really Robbo, playing constantly in the World Cup starting 11, Lee and unluckily Zokora leaving after the group stage.

King fit again after finally getting a rest, and reports say he’s ready for 90minutes already. After the years of nothing to finally make it back into Europe, and knowing that we have strengthened a squad which could so easily be playing Champions League football but for the bug of the final match.

Expectations will be as high as ever but probably for the first time in the premiership, there is some justification to these expectations.

Looking forward to the league, can’t wait until my first glimpse and yearly outing to Stevenage Borough. Maybe one or two more players to come..?Article submitted by member member ajm142003
