With the weekend proving fruitful for Tottenham Hotspur fans given the captures of Sergio Reguilon and Gareth Bale, Sunday turned into an even better day as we made the trip down to St Mary’s Stadium to face Ralph Hasenhuttl’s Southampton side.
Despite initially falling behind in the first half, we went into the half time break level with Son Heung-Min netting the leveller. Second half was a different story and Sonny went on to bag four goals in total, with Harry Kane helping himself to four assists – and he also nabbed us our fifth with eight minutes remaining.
Although Saints did get one from the penalty spot, 5-2 is a fantastic result to get ourselves up and running in the Premier League.

Statistics website Whoscored understandably had good player ratings after that, but they couldn’t split Kane and Sonny with each receiving a maximum 10.00 rating.
Completing the top five were Pierre-Emile Hojbjerg (7.18), Hugo Lloris (7.17) and Eric Dier (6.95).
Let’s hope that’s a taste of more to come this season.
