Tottenham Hotspur made the short trip to Selhurst Park to face Crystal Palace in today’s late Premier League kickoff.
Manager Mauricio Pochettino again tweaked the starting XI and he kept faith with young centre-half Juan Foyth following his performance against Wolverhampton Wanderers. The 20-year-old Argentine more than repaid that faith with his defensive showing and he topped it off by grabbing his first senior goal for the side to ensure fans were celebrating a win and another three points at the fulltime whistle.
Spurs did have the greater possession on the day, but otherwise, it was a pretty level game really. Overall attempts on target were matched at 11 but the hosts did test our keeper more than we managed theirs, which was disappointing. But again we battled to the points and did just enough to take the win and whilst our ‘style’ this season does irritate some, winning in a more ugly manner in a neat trick to have in football.
Onto the next one…
