Tottenham Hotspur are back at home this weekend, facing an FA Cup third-round tie against Portsmouth at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, with kick-off tomorrow at 12:30 PM BST. Read the match preview here.

Below is the pick of the stats going into the Harry Redknapp derby:

  • Head-to-head (via the Evening Standard): Tottenham wins: 27 – Draws: 26 – Portsmouth wins: 28.
  • Via BBC Sport: Spurs have yet to lose a home FA Cup tie against a side from outside the top division since a 1-0 defeat to Brian Clough’s legendary Nottingham Forest in 1975, a run that stretches back 43 matches.
  • After winning their first three FA Cup meetings with Portsmouth between 1937 and 1991, Spurs lost their last such game against them in the April 2010 semi-final (2-0 – Frederic Piquionne and Kevin Prince-Boateng the scorers that day.
  • Portsmouth have lost six of their last seven away games against Tottenham in all competitions – with all ecnounters coming in the Premier League between 2004 and 2010 – with their last victory at Spurs coming in April 1988 (1-0).
  • The only match Portsmouth did not lose in this period was a 1-1 draw in January 2009 (the match where Harry Redknapp infamously derided Darren Bent for missing an opportunity that his “missus would have scored”!)
  • In this seven-match run of home fixtures against Pompey, Spurs have scored 17 and conceded just 7, with 3 of those Pompey goals coming in one game (a 4-3 victory for Spurs in 2004).
  • Harry Kane has faced Portsmouth once in his professional senior career, scoring against them for Millwall in the Champiosnhip in April 2012 – if he scores twice tomorrow, he will match Jimmy Greaves’ record as Spurs’ top scorer with 266 goals.
