Spurs Without Eight For Opening 2019/20 Clash With Newly Promoted Aston Villa

|

With Tottenham Hotspur fans hopefully having a busy end to the summer transfer window with the deadline closing on Thursday evening, manager Mauricio Pochettino may well need additional cover if it proves to be true that we are without eight senior players for the opening day’s clash on Saturday.

According to Physioroom.com’s injury table, manager Mauricio Pochettino will be unable to call on a number of players for a few reasons, and fans shouldn’t forget that Son Heung-Min is suspended for this one and so is Juan Foyth (although he’s now picked up an injury of his own).

Dele Alli has recently been added to our injury list and he joins Eric Dier, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Victor Wanyama and Cameron Carter-Vickers as being unavailable.

The closest to a return is potentially Serge Aurier following the bizarre hand problem he picked up whilst on Africa Cup of Nations duty this summer, but that will depend on how long it takes him to return to contact training.

Later today I imagine we’ll get the full list from the club, so there may be a surprise or two that works in our favour.
