Spurs Weighing Up Move For Dutch Teenager Who Is Also In Barca’s Sights

|

Tottenham are keeping track of Ajax defender Matthijs de Ligt, according to Daily Telegraph journalist Matt Law.

It looks as though the club are keeping their options open as to who they will look to replace Toby Alderweireld with in the summer.

The Dutch centre back has been mentioned as a possible target before, whilst Jonny Evans has also been tipped due to the fact he will be available for just £3m after West Brom’s relegation.

A third name on the list of potential recruits is Newcastle captain Jamaal Lascelles, who at 24 years of age would be seen as the middle ground between the Ajax starlet and the experienced Baggies centre half.

With regards to de Ligt, it would certainly be an interesting prospect. The 18 year old played alongside Davinson Sanchez for the second half of last season as they reached the final of the Europa League.

He has only really been in the first team for the last 12 months, but his talent has already attracted clubs like Barcelona, with Mundo Deportivo reporting the teenager as being part of the Catalan club’s transfer plans for the summer.
