Spurs Turn To Colchester For Some EFL Cup Comforts – Match Thread

|

After the high that was the Crystal Palace victory for Tottenham Hotspur, it’s turned into another one of those weeks for fans as we saw a two goal capitulation to Olympiakos in the Champions League and then further disappointment as Leicester City came back from behind to take a 2-1 victory in the Premier League at the weekend.

For most fans, I guess they were approaching the EFL Cup distraction and our trip to Colchester United with more youthful hopes for manager Mauricio Pochettino’s starting lineup – namely better involvement for the likes of Oliver Skipp, and certainly a senior debut of some kind for highly rated young talent Troy Parrott.

With how the last week has gone though, I think the majority of fans would now want to see our strongest side go out and make a statement in this tie to restore some confidence and belief, in what is clearly a frustrated fanbase – even for those of us more glass half full.

Let’s see what Tuesday evening’s third round tie delivers against the League Two side.
