Report: Tottenham could swap Ndombele for €60m-rated “workaholic” who emulates Modric

|

According to a report from Italian news outlet Corriere dello Sport, Tottenham could be offered the chance to swap club record signing Tanguy Ndombele for Inter Milan midfielder Marcelo Brozovic in what may be a tempting transfer move for Daniel Levy.

Ndombele, who has been out-of-favour under manager Jose Mourinho since the Premier League restart, failing to start a single game, is reportedly wanted by Inter and the Serie A giants could be willing to offer Brozovic in a potential swap deal.

Would you swap Ndombele for Brozovic?

Yes, get him in

No, Ndombele has more potential

Spurs have been linked with a move for Brozovic in the past, and now CDS can reveal that we may still have a chance to sign the €60 million (£55m)-rated ace if we were open to letting Ndombele go the other way.

The Croatian, likened to ex-Tottenham hero Luka Modric in the past, is also a compatriot of our former favourite and partnered him in midfield during the 2018 World Cup – helping their native Croatia reach the final.

Described as a true ‘workaholic‘ by the Italian press, it appears Antonio Conte can see a future without the 27-year-old in his side – but how does he compare to Ndombele?

According to WhoScored, Ndombele completes more dribbles per 90 on average but Brozovic holds the edge in terms of shots per game (1.8) and key passes (1.3).

Defensively, it’s absolutely no contest, with the Inter midfielder reigning superior in tackles made on average (2.2) and intercepted passes per league match (1.7).

While the Frenchman arguably wasn’t signed for his defensive heroics, it’s clear by the numbers that Brozovic could be a more jack-of-all-trades option in the middle – but whether or not we would be willing to part ways with our club record acquisition remains to be seen.
