We are among the teams monitoring Celtic centre half Kristoffer Ajer, according to TeamTalk.
Borussia Dortmund are said to be leading the way for the Norwegian, with us, Southampton and Watford all said to be “keen on making a move” for the 19 year old.
The Scottish champions are reportedly trying to tie the defender down to a longer term contract. He moved to Scotland in 2016, and was originally a midfield player. Brendan Rodgers has however converted him into a ball playing centre back.
I have no doubt we would have had a look at the player. He is excellent on the ball, considering he was a midfielder, and is a good prospect for the future after recently getting his first two caps for Norway’s senior side.
However in Juan Foyth and Davinson Sanchez, we are pretty much set for young centre back options. I would be hoping that a more a senior centre half would arrive in the summer if we do make a signing in that area of the pitch.
