The 2021/22 Premier League season fixtures were announced this morning, with the best match for the neutral fans on the opening day being Spurs hosting Manchester City at the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, hopefully with fans returning to the stands too.
It will be a difficult start to life in North London for Paulo Fonseca, but a surprise win or even a draw could set the team in the right direction having already preventing the current league champions from securing three points.

The game could also be significant for a whole other reason, as Harry Kane could line-up against Spurs for City in the first game of the season – however reports in the last couple of hours have downplayed that possibility and it seems almost impossible that Daniel Levy will allow for that to happen.
However, playing teams like City right at the start of this upcoming season could be a good thing for the club, as often after international tournaments, players who have played in them tend to take extended holidays and aren’t always fit enough to start the first games of the season having not had a proper pre-season.

Spurs’ next three fixtures are slightly easier, however, with promoted side Watford travelling to Spurs in-between away fixtures at Wolverhampton Wanderers and Crystal Palace, however Chelsea then come to North London in the third week of September for the club’s first London derby of the season.

The Christmas month will see seven games played, and five of them definitely winnable with the only top six teams to be played in December being Leicester City and Liverpool, before Spurs host Crystal Palace on Boxing Day and an away trip to Watford on New Years Day.

The ‘run-in’ month of May sees Spurs take on Liverpool away first, and then Burnley at home – with the final game of the season matching the club up with newly promoted Norwich City, with an away trip to Norfolk scheduled.
