Spurs Tipped To Go Dutch Again – Could Be A Worthwhile Gamble At 12m Euros

|

Football will soon be back for Tottenham Hotspur and then we’ll have more real news to discuss rather than endless speculation, but over the weekend there was a more left field Dutch link being made and it concerned Club Brugge winger Arnaut Groeneveld.

The 22-year-old began life at Eredivisie side NEC Nijmegen but last summer he made the switch to Belgian and Club Brugge but according to Soccerbase his game time has been pretty limited – but his goal return from the flank certainly stands out – it seems he picked up a lengthy injury though so that would explain the lack of minutes.

15 starts with seven substitute showings across their domestic and Champions League campaign saw him chip in with six goals and given he’s already a Dutch international, this one just seems to tick quite a few boxes when it comes to manager Mauricio Pochettino, so it stood out to me.

The report came from Voetbal International and although they link clubs from England, Italy, France and Spain with having an interest in the youngster we are one of the few sides actually given a firm namecheck.

I’m not sure how accurate his valuation claim of 12million Euros from Transfer Markt is and although he can apparently play on both flanks, our successful chase of Jack Clarke might complicate things here – but it might be worth a gamble at that price.
