We all remember the summer of 2019 where Spurs signed Tanguy Ndombele, Giovani Lo Celso on loan and exciting youngsters Jack Clarke and Ryan Sessegnon permanently.
But the reason us fans remember it more than any other was that chaotic but exciting and then ultimately disappointing end to the transfer window as we were heavily linked with Juventus superstar Paulo Dybala as well as now Manchester United fan favourite Bruno Fernandes and former Liverpool playmaker Philippe Coutinho.
Our pursuit of Dybala was the one that was most likely going to happen, but ultimately issues with his incredibly expensive image rights helped cause the collapse of the deal much to our disappointment.
Thank god, image rights have scarred me for life

There were fans on Twitter who were willing to start a GoFundMe campaign to raise the funds to pay for Dybala’s image rights which ultimately proved too much a stumbling block for Daniel Levy.

Now Spurs are interested in Dybala once again, it’s a relief to see that his image rights are reportedly no longer an issue, and a deal will be far more simple to negotiate this summer than two years ago.
The forward is on the transfer list at Juventus after failing to strike up a goalscoring partnership with global superstar Cristiano Ronaldo, but at Spurs he could form an incredible front three with Harry Kane and Heung-min Son.

Should he sign for Spurs, it’s likely the fee will be at most £39 million, £25 million less than what Daniel Levy agreed with the Italian giants two years ago, and there is no doubt that the Chairman will be looking to negotiate that price tag down further.
The club are also interested in one of the Argentine’s teammates, Aaron Ramsey, who of course used to be a fan favourite at arch-rivals Arsenal, but a deal to sign just the attacker is far more likely than to sign the midfielder too.
Its him or Sabitzer. We ain't getting both, we ain't city.

If he does sign, it will mean that there will most definitely be outgoings too, with the likes of Erik Lamela, Harry Winks and Hugo Lloris all being linked with exits in the Summer, while Spurs are also linked with Marcel Sabitzer who probably won’t sign too if Dybala moves to North London.
Dybala, 27, has recently come under fire for his controversial TikTok video which has since been deleted.
