The Premier League fixture list gave Tottenham Hotspur a trip to the Cardiff City Stadium on New Year’s Day to face Neil Warnock’s Cardiff City side.

With manager Mauricio Pochettino’s side looking to get back to winning ways following the defeat to Wolverhampton Wanderers, we couldn’t have had a better start in many ways.

Three minutes in Harry Kane had opened the scoring and Christian Eriksen made it four goals in five matches as he doubled our advantage in the 12th minute. Son Heung-Min made it 3-0 and with only 26 minutes played it was very much a case of game over for Neil Warnock’s side.

After that, we just strolled to victory, especially in the second period but Cardiff didn’t put up much of a fight so from a fatigue perspective, the match couldn’t have gone much better really.

It was also the perfect way to bounce back from our previous disappointment and we are back in second spot for the time being.
