With Tottenham Hotspur striker Harry Kane having recently signed a new long-term deal at the club, Monday evening saw him effectively take apart the Spanish defence as he helped himself to a brace of assists in Gareth Southgate’s 3-2 victory.
Having shocked the Spaniard’s with our performance, Kane more than showed there is more to his game than simply banging in the goals themselves and his performance on the day will only naturally increase the speculation of a move away from Tottenham in the future and one cheeky journalist attempted to capitalise on that following the game.
The question from the Marca journalist was incredibly simple.
“Would you like to go to Real Madrid?”
Kane’s response, was succinct, honest and to the point, whilst also being incredibly respectful to both sets of fans I think.
“Sorry, not today.”
It won’t quell speculation linking him with the Santiago Bernabeu but it certainly made me smile when I heard about it.
