Spurs Right A Few Wrongs With Brighton Victory Much To Everyone’s Relief

|

With the Champions League clash against Inter Milan meaning three straight defeats for Tottenham Hotspur for the first time under the charge of manager Mauricio Pochettino, we headed to Brighton and Hove Albion yesterday and their Amex Stadium simply looking to get back to winning ways.

Five changes were made from midweek and we finally saw Paulo Gazzaniga take the position between the sticks and it was all eyes to the next 90 minutes.

Much maligned England striker Harry Kane got back amongst the goals with a 42nd-minute penalty to give us the advantage going into the break, and Erik Lamela popped up with just under 15 minutes remaining in the game to double our advantage.

Brighton did get a stoppage-time equaliser on the day through Anthony Knockaert and although the game wasn’t end to end given the weather, we managed it well and more than had the better of the game in terms of possession and chances created, so anything but a victory would’ve been harsh.

The win was all important to stem the pressure, now it’s about kicking on once again.
