Spurs Return To Europe But It Was Hardly Convincing – Match Stats

|

After a long old season, Tottenham Hotspur finally reached the final game of the 2019/20 Premier League campaign and the final round of games for the year would resolve plenty of questions at both ends of the table – not least would we sneak the Europa League.

It was a strange first half in some ways, Palace better dominated and created more chances overall, but at the break, we had two on target and Harry Kane put his chance away in the 13th minute to give us the advantage.

It wasn’t a great start to the second half, as Palace had soon levelled matters up so it was going to be an interesting 30 minutes and a bit.

Little of note really happened then, but a point was enough to see into the Europa League but it’s not exactly the momentum we’d have wanted going into next year with another mixed performance.

    Continuing from the match thread:

Cum on you Spurs. To dare is to do. The ball goes IN the net. The bus is not the thing to park. Every encounter should be full bore full on, no holding back. Be creative and always press forward (and backward) and forward (and backward) until Cum On You Spurs. And then the cries ring in the air. Oh God. there’s nothing like the moment of putting it in and screaming in delight. Goal, Spurs! What a moment. can’t be reproduced, except to reproduce. It’s how you play the beautiful game.

as to the last match of a dismal season, move on. To Europa, I guess? sigh in resignation. and JM? a low patch in the history of a great club. Let’s hope it doesn’t go on too long. JM isn’t a man who lives in our tradition. Shame on DL hiring this embarrassment. THFC will survive, but this isn’t one of our glorious moments. Even if we bring in a cup or two, this man is a disgrace. Petulant purveyor of boring football. to dare is to shrink in fear that we might do something interesting. Out damned blot.
