Spurs reportedly hold ‘concrete’ interest in Danish winger – amid January transfer rumours

|

Spurs like many clubs will see the Qatar World Cup as an opportunity to scout a number of players ahead of the forthcoming January transfer window. One of the players Spurs are reportedly keeping a keen eye on in Qatar, is Denmark’s Andreas Skov Olsen.

This comes as according to Belgian publication Het Nieuwsblad (via HITC), Tottenham are keen on bolstering their attacking options with Skov Olsen high-up on their list.

The club have reportedly sent out scouts to Qatar, to watch the 22-year-old – who featured in Demark’s 0-0 opener with Tunisia.

Skov Olsen who plies his trade in Belgium with Club Brugge, joined the Belgian outfit back in January for the bargain fee of £6 million – with his valuation skyrocketing ever since.

So, is Skov Olsen a worthwhile signing for the Lilywhites?

The Dane’s form this season suggests he would be a smart signing for Spurs with the winger contributing to 12 goals in 21 appearances across all competitions so far this season.

The winger has also saved some of his best performances for the Champions League – with his two-goal contributions helping his side reach the knockout stages.

Should Spurs sign Andreas Skov Olsen?

YES

NO

His underlying numbers (provided by FB Ref) also make good reading for Antonio Conte, with him racking up 2.44 key passes per 90 in the Champions League this season. Just for some context this trumps both Heung-Min Son (1.61) and Richarlison’s (1.67) tallies in this season’s Champions League.

With Lucas Moura’s contract expiring in the summer and Bryan Gil likely to also be heading for exit door, Skov Olsen could provide some vital cover for Tottenham’s attacking stars. Cover that is much needed, with Spurs suffering a number of injury issues in the attacking third so far this season.
