Spurs Player Keeps Proving His Doubters Wrong With Star Man Rating From West Ham

|

There was more than just three points up for grabs as Tottenham Hotspur made the trip to the London Stadium to face West Ham United on Saturday.

Erik Lamela’s goal just before the half-time break was enough to separate the sides at the full-time whistle as we picked up another win under manager Mauricio Pochettino in this season’s Premier League. It wasn’t pretty and the hosts had greater chances but the saves he made on the day many would naturally pick goalkeeper Hugo Lloris for the Man of the Match award.

Statistics website WhoScored went in another direction though as they had goalscorer Lamela just pip the Frenchman to their star man award by 0.21 of a rating.

Lloris was more than deserving of his 7.79 immediately post game and Moussa Sissoko, Lucas Moura and Toby Alderweireld completed the top five on the day with 7.46, 7.21 and 7.12 respectively.

With the Champions League clash against PSV Eindhoven next up and then Manchester City after that, a more gritty victory where it was more largely about digging in rather than be pretty, might have actually been the perfect preparation for those ties.
