Spurs On Alert As Agent Confirms French Ace Is Looking For A Transfer

|

Manchester United forward Anthony Martial has decided to leave Old Trafford this summer after negotiations over a new contract collapsed, his agent has confirmed.

Philippe Lamboley told RMC Sport (translated by the Evening Standard) that there were many teams interested in the 22-year-old:

“I can’t say anything at the moment, but clearly, from the moment a player like Anthony is on the market, many clubs are interested. All I can say is that many coaches appreciate his talents and many clubs are proposing their projects to Anthony.”

Martial is believed to be a target for us, as well as a number of other clubs this summer but United are said to be reluctant to sell the Frenchman.

Although he did make 45 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring 11 goals and providing nine assists, the striker was rarely given a long run in the team by Jose Mourinho.

In his comments, Lamboley hinted that the player is not enjoying his football under the Portuguese manager:

“Anthony simply wants to play, rediscover the pleasure of football and the rapport with the coach will be crucial.”

Martial moved to Manchester from Monaco in 2015 for a fee rising to £58m. It is believed that United would look to recoup much of what they paid for the France international.
