RB Leipzig and Chelsea have joined us in pursuing Red Bull Salzburg midfielder Amadou Hairdara, according to France Football.

Reports from Austria have indicated we have been tracking the 20-year-old for a number of months, but it seems other clubs are now preparing offers for the player.

Leipzig need a replacement for the Liverpool bound Naby Keita, and their links to Salzburg mean they have a good chance of signing the midfielder.

France Football say we have already made contact about signing Haidara, but Chelsea have also made an enquiry, although their interest is said to be not as strong as ours.

The Malian international can play in central midfield or on the right flank. The majority of his ten assists last season came from wide positions.

His most notable performance came in the second leg of the Europa League semi-final against Marseille, where he scored the opening goal before being sent off in extra time.

  • Kovacic and/or William Carvalho of Sporting would be my choices. Carvalho is very similar to Dier – indeed they should know each other from time spent at Sporting Lisbon.

  • El jefe That ain’t the midfielder we need,it’s a playmaker to spray d ball around the pitch i.e. modric type player not another sideways passer we rely to much on eriksen .

  • We scout em others sign em. We track players for months, dither, and mess around rather than decide who we want, get in tap him up like the others do, and get a deal done. The reason we are almost always last rather than first in the queue is that we are indecisive and always looking for a pounds worth of player for 50p, won’t take measured risks, hence we often miss out. June 5th still no news at Spurs.

  • Frank I think there is more to it than what you think, my opinion is get past the agents first, who keep whispering in their players ears, an example Willian past medical, about to sign, Moaninio rings agent saying double the wage on offer, result Willian signs for the Chavs, just a thought.
