Sunday’s Premier League fixture saw Tottenham Hotspur make the difficult trip to Anfield to face seriously in form Liverpool.
Plenty was riding on the fixture and whilst few were confident of victory, many hoped we’d exact some Champions League revenge on Jurgen Klopp’s side and we had the perfect start on that front as Harry Kane benefited from some Son Heung-Min work, to open the scoring after something like 45 seconds.
The question then was could we hold on, and the answer was almost, but no.
Statistics website Whoscored were hardly complimentary in their player ratings, but goalkeeper Paulo Gazzaniga understandably took their star man award for Man of the Match with a score of 8.89 for his individual efforts between the sticks.
Harry Kane followed in second with 7.07 and Sonny took third with 7.02. Toby Alderweireld (6.90) and Davison Sanchez (6.75) completed the top five on the day but the ongoing questions and debates about our form will simply continue after that.
