Spurs Man Doesn’t Return To Champions League Squad As Pochettino Corrects A Mistake

|

Tottenham Hotspur confirmed their Champions League squad for the upcoming knockout stage clash against Borussia Dortmund yesterday and whilst a pretty familiar face returns to the 25-man list, another continues to miss out.

Having left Juan Foyth out of the group at the beginning of the season, with manager Mauricio Pochettino later describing it as a ‘mistake’, the young centre-back is now in contention for the competition, but striker Vincent Janssen remains absent – despite reportedly returning to our 25-man Premier League squad after he failed to move on in the January transfer window.

The departure of midfielder Mousa Dembele to China in the window has provided the place.

The full squad according to Sky Sports are:

Non locally trained players:
Hugo Lloris, Michel Vorm, Paulo Gazzaniga, Toby Alderweireld, Jan Vertonghen, Davinson Sanchez, Juan Foyth, Eric Dier, Serge Aurier, Ben Davies, Son Heung-min, Erik Lamela, Victor Wanyama, Moussa Sissoko, Christian Eriksen, Lucas Moura, Fernando Llorente.

Locally trained players:
Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose, Harry Winks, Dele Alli, Harry Kane.

B list:
Alfie Whiteman, Brandon Austin, Kyle Walker-Peters, Timothy Eyoma, Luke Amos, George Marsh, Oliver Skipp, Jamie Bowden, Kazaiah Sterling.

The eagled eyed will know that Sterling is out on loan at Sunderland for the remainder of the campaign.
