Spurs Keeping An Eye On £12m Rated Swiss Wide Man

|

The club could rival Southampton in pursuing Stoke winger Xherdan Shaqiri, according to the Mirror journalist Alex Crook.

The report doesn’t go into much detail about our interest, only to say that we are “keeping tabs” on the Swiss international. Saints boss Mark Hughes is, however, looking to step up his interest in the 26-year-old after previously working with the player when he was Potters boss.

Shaqiri is said to have a release clause of just £12m after Stoke’s relegation from the Premier League. The player has recently stated that he will be leaving his current team and has made it known that he would prefer to stay in England.

We have also been linked with Inter Milan’s Ivan Perisic by Italian newspaper the Corriere Dello Sport in recent days, and it seems we are on the lookout for another wide player.

Playing for Stoke last season, Shaqiri’s numbers were pretty decent with eight goals and seven assists in 36 league matches. At 26 and available at a relatively low price, it may tempt Mauricio Pochettino into making a move.
