Spurs Interest In Danish Hotshot Revealed By Dutch Veteran

|

Former Everton and Inter Milan midfielder Andy van der Meyde believes that we are tracking Ajax forward Kasper Dolberg.

Speaking to Italian news outlet Calciomercato.com, the ex-Dutch international says that despite having a pretty poor season in the Eredivisie, he is being tracked by us:

“There is Dolberg, he has experienced a difficult season because of injury problems, but he has incredible ability. I understand that Tottenham is on him, his future I see in England.”

We have been linked with a whole host of Ajax players in recent weeks with Matthijs de Ligt, Jan Veltman and Justin Kluivert all being monitored by the club, according to the Evening Standard.

Dolberg’s name hasn’t cropped up though, but there’s no reason why van der Meyde would lie. As a former Ajax man, he likely has insiders at the club so it will be interesting see if we do go after the Danish international.

We will probably recruit another striker and the 20-year-old could be on a list of targets if a reported move for Anthony Martial doesn’t work out. He can play right across the front three which could work in his favour.

However, for Ajax last season he scored just nine times in 30 matches, playing mostly through the middle.
