Spurs ‘Hold Discussions’ Over £35m Rated French Under 21 International

|

We have held meetings with Lyon over the signing of midfielder Tanguy Ndombele, according to L’Equipe.

The French publication reports that the club have “begun discussions” about the 21-year-old and that a €40m (£35m) fee could be needed to persuade the Ligue One club into selling.

Ndombele is actually still on loan at Lyon from Amiens until July 1st. The French side will then take up their option to buy the holding midfielder.

Whether they will then allow the French Under-21 international to leave once he has signed on a permanent basis, it is not known.

L’Equipe describe the transfer negotiations as “not easy.” Daniel Levy is reportedly very keen to get this deal done quickly due to apparent interest from other clubs in the player.

However, Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas is a notoriously tough negotiator, and it is believed that it will take a while before an agreement will be reached between the two parties.
