Spurs Given Boost In Pursuit Of £53m Rated French Midfield Anchor Man

|

Lyon are pursuing Strasbourg midfielder Jean-Eudes Aholou as a replacement for Tanguy Ndombele, according to TMW.

The Italian website reports that this will likely see the France Under 21 international leave the Ligue One side, with us his most likely destination.

L’Equipe revealed last week that we were in talks with Lyon about signing Ndombele. The French publication said a bid of €40m (£35m) was proposed, but that the midfielder’s club were seeking a fee in the region of €60m (£53m).

However, those claims were later refuted by Sky Sports.  It is believed we are weighing up a number of recruits in midfield, but it’s likely that we’ll wait and see if Mousa Dembele leaves the club before making a final decision.

Ndombele does look like a good replacement, due to his similar skillset to our no.19, but at the moment, it doesn’t look as though we have settled on him being a priority target.
