Spurs Given Boost In Pursuit of £25m Rated Championship Playmaker

|

James Maddison will be the subject of a transfer battle between six Premier League clubs this summer after news he will return to full fitness in July, according to the Sun.

The tabloid says that we are likely to be one of the teams interested, along with Manchester City, Everton, Southampton, Arsenal and Brighton.

£25million is being suggested as a possible asking price for the England Under 21 international.  He has scored 15 goals for mid-table Championship outfit Norwich City this campaign, but he was stretchered off on the final day of the season.

The 21-year old damaged knee ligaments in the 5-1 defeat against Sheffield Wednesday last Sunday, and was expected to be out until November, but could now return in the next two months.

This story is effectively one that has been recycled from a couple of months ago, only with the additional twist of Maddison’s recent injury. We could do with cover for Christian Eriksen in the number 10 role, but whether he’d be up to the task, we’ll have to see.
